Bio

Meet Sean Rafter, an Irish national who has called Switzerland his home since 2002. Sean has had an extensive and impressive career spanning various industries and continents. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) First Class in Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool John Moore’s University, UK, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing Option) from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland. He also has a Distinction in Art, Design and the Environment from Senior College, Dublin, Ireland.

Sean's career journey began in 1995 at Ricardo Consulting Engineers, where he worked as a Project Engineer in the vehicle noise refinement department. In 2000, he moved on to Vitria Technology Plc., where he provided technical support and onsite solutions to clients in Europe and the Middle East. In 2002, he was headhunted to manage IT Operations for Sunrise, a leading telecom provider in Switzerland.

His passion for humanitarian work led him to join Medical Emergency Relief International (Merlin) and Save the Children UK, where he established and managed international supply chain and logistic operations in challenging environments globally. Today, he serves as the Managing Director of HELP Logistics AG, Switzerland, impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics and supply chain in the humanitarian sector globally.

Sean Rafter's passion for photography has been inspired by his exploration of travel and cultures, and his work in the humanitarian sector. He is an expert in capturing the essence of people, their culture, and their environment, and he does so with an exceptional level of sensitivity and empathy.

Sean's photographic journey began in 1989 when he won a gold medal in the Nature section of Fuji Young Photographer of Ireland and received commendation for his portfolio. Today, he is a semi-professional photographer with a complete digital home studio and website. His portfolio includes portraits and landscapes from various countries, highlighting the diversity and beauty of different cultures and environments.

Through his humanitarian work, Sean has been able to connect with people from all walks of life and capture their stories through his camera lens. His portraits are a testament to his ability to capture the soul of his subjects and tell their stories through a single image. His landscape photography is equally impressive, showcasing the beauty and grandeur of different terrains worldwide.
